Subject: father with leiomyosarcoma
Date: Wednesday, February 11, 1998 1:32 AM

Kent, my father was recently diagnosed with leio which has metastisized
to the liver, unfortunately, after many years of severe abdominal pain
and alot of painkillers. they finally figured it out but still don't
know where it originated from and the docs here don't seem to want to
know and we all feel a little dismissed, which isn't setting well with
me! anyway, I was so pleased to see your web page, since noone around
here knows much about leio & I understand it's somewhat rare? I would
like to know what docs you saw at sloan kettering. I think my dad may
end up out there. Being from Illinois, we may go to U of Chicago 1st to
see what goodies they have up their sleeve! I also want to ask you if
you've ever heard of dr. Das Gupta? I don't know where he's from but
supposedly he's the "expert" on this cancer. It's great that you've
listed all the "stuff" you are taking and I have got my dad on shark
cartilage & drinking some nasty tea (we don't get essiac around here but
it's s'posed to be similar!) One of your email letters I read this guy
talks about taking UREA so I'm going to email him to ask how & where he
gets it. Thanks again for all the inspiration. Needless to say, my
small family is devastated at this news & we are just desperately
searching for as much info we can get so we can keep my dad around a
long time to come. Christine
