Hi! My name is Gary Willett. I work as Director of Human Resources for
the regional hospital in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada and I was
diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma on October 27,1998. I am not sure yet
what grade the pathologist will be coming up with, but we think it is
low grade.

On October 15,1998, I consulted with my family physician because I had a
lump on my left buttock, that was growing but not causing any pain and
/or too much discumfort. The next day I was able to have an ultrasound,
the following week a CT Scan and the day after a biopsy. By the 27th I
was diagnosed with a malignant tumor; I don`t feel sick.
I am scheduled for radiation therapy on November 19th. I understand that
the objective is to reduce the tumor which will reduce the amount
removed in surgery.
Apparently this tumor is rare. It appears that the buttock is a strange
place to find the form of cancer and unusual for a 46 years old.

It has been informative to read the letters of people responding to your
site, I will keep you informed of my experience and progress through
treatment.
Good luck to everyone.
God bless you

Gary
