My father was diagnosed 5 yrs ago with a LMS of the rectum/Colon, he
successfully underwent a permanent colostomy and was back to golf within
5 weeks. AT the inital surgery time, he had no chemo or radiation. At
his annual check-up another mass was discovered at the site of the scar
tissue where his last surgery was performed. Needless to say we are
very worried and are looking for any new surgical interventions or
procedures that are currently being performed. He will go to MD
Anderson's sarcoma clinic next week for a second opinion regarding the
best course of treatment surgery/chemo/radiation/ or ?). Luckily it
does appear to be localized in one area. If anyone has had a similar
LMS in this area, please email me with any info that you have that may
be helpful in treating this partuclar tumor. I pray that everyone who
has had this disease is doing well, and will keep you in my prayers.
