Subject: Mother's Leiomyosarcoma on the small bowel

Kent:

Thank you so much for this site. My mother is starving for information and
this will
help. She had surgery about four weeks ago and was found to have
Leiomyosarcoma on the small colon. They remove five feet of colon and have
said
that they got it all. They have been in touch with specialists at Sloan-
Kettering and
have recommended a mild dose of both radiation and chemotherapy.

I'm a little concerned because so few of the letters I have read so far have
related
using radiation or chemo. She is supposed to start on Tuesday. She is 71
years
old but is fit for her age, exercises, and feels good right now. She, as well
as all of
us family members, are trusting in the Lord for his will.

Hope you are well. Please notify me if you have any helpful information.

Thanks,
R. David Gaines
