Dear Mr. Field,
I just discovered your site on the net. My mother is yet another
survivor. Almost five years ago she was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma
of the uterus. After a hysterectomy, she received radiation and has
been cancer free. She has, however, begun having discomfort in her hip
joint and is going next week to have a biopsy since something appeared
in a CT scan and on an MRI of the hip. Doctors say it would be very
rare for her cancer to have reoccurred after this long and in that
particular location, so we are hoping for the best. She is 71 now and
lives in a part of South Carolina where doctors say there is a higher
than normal incidence of leiomyosarcoma. Perhaps with the information
you are receiving from individuals who have been diagnosed with this
type of cancer, more information will become available. Thank you your
your site!
